Connecting to Data


>> Data Connecting

  • Tableau Desktop: Connect to a data source

    1. [Connect] Pane --> click the file type
    2. [Open] dialog box --> select the data source --> click [Open]

  • Tableau Online (Explorer): Connect to a published data source

    1. [Home] page --> select [Workbook]

      [Explore] page --> [New] menu --> select [Workbook]

    2. [Connect to Data] dialog box --> select data source and click [Connect]

  • Tableau Online (Creator): Publish and connect to a data source

    1. [Home] Page --> select [Workbook]

      [Explore] page --> [New] menu --> select [Workbook]

    2. [Connect to Data] dialog box --> [Files] tab

    3. click [Upload from computer]

    4. [Open] dialog box --> select the data source --> click [Open]
